Adventures

And then there were 12…

So… here I am back at London Heathrow Airport, awaiting departure after 12 weeks in Europe. 12 weeks… Wow.
Some quick stats for the past 12 weeks… more airports, marinas and freeways on the Adventures of a Sailor Girl…

  • 12 events covered (13 media centres)
  • 19 airport visits (8 individual airports)
  • 18 marinas
  • one “million” freeways (slight overestimation potentially); one flat tyre, and one flat battery
  • 5 trains and too many metros
  • Countless good times with old and new friends (and more family members “adopted”)
  • So many amazingly awesome adventures and stories shared about our sport, from the past and the present…

Find all of the stories, the radio shows and the YouTube interviews via my blog…

What is next – will the adventures continue?

So many have been asking what is next? Will the adventures continue?
Short answer is of course. Myself and the Sunset Media team are in for the long haul. Sailing content via social media channels and as much on the ground coverage of as many events as possible.
From here I am back to Australia to train hard in September and have a crack at my 19th Nationals, in a row with skipper Rob Douglass (a.k.a Dad) in the Tasar, jump back on with my Etchells team, Fifteen+ for the Queensland State Champs leading into the Nationals in January, and then potentially head to Bermuda for the Argo Gold Cup and next edition of the America’s Cup World Series…
Still plenty on, but so much that has been squeezed into the last 12 weeks… it feels like a year.

Thank you…

Thank you to all of those who have followed the adventures in Europe, there are still plenty more to come and if you have something that you think should be covered, please don’t hesitate to let the team at Adventures of a Sailor Girl know. We are looking to be involved with as many events as possible!
To those who are working so hard behind the scenes, from my family, to the Sunset Media board, those who have helped with photography or sending me feedback and/or support… It means the world!
To my sponsors and adopted families (Nick & Sarah, the Berntsson’s, the Palfrey’s, the GAC Pindar team and Zhik), this is only the beginning – thanks to all of you!
