Another day, but not just another Volvo stopover!

Well if you had asked me where Lorient was a week ago I would not have been able to tell you. I now know that there are a group of magenta clad ladies as well as some yellow donned chaps and both of their support teams who will never forget where the little French port is located.

Being on site for the leg 8 win of Team SCA as well as the overall win of Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing was definitely a moment I will never forget.

The videos from Lorient are available below… Thank you to Ian, Sam and Annie for taking the time to talk with me.

I also managed to drop in on the La Solitaire du Figaro stop in Concarmeau, a small French fishing village in a separate district. More information on this amazing single-handed yacht race here.

As for now… Well I am on a ferry to Portsmouth to head to Weymouth first thing in the morning to catch the last day or so of the ISAF Sailing World Cup! Excited to be on the ground for my Aussie sailing friends and team mates, as well as to catch up with sailors from other countries vying to be on the Olympic Dias come next year.

That’s all for the first section of my European adventures… Thank you to the amazing sailors that have caught up with me so far, whether in person and through my channels or just to say hello. Is incredible to be sharing our stories about the sport that we love.

Chat soon, from Cardiff for the Extreme Sailing Series, or potentially in Sweden when I meet the Volvo boats for the end of the 2014-15 edition, whenever I next get the chance!

As always, catch me via my social media channels for more updates in between my news here.

Stay tuned,
Sailor Girl xxx
