Well… just to keep up the variety in my posts, I am writing this from a hospital bed. Very slowly! Small accident yesterday in the kitchen has resulted in nerve damage of some kind. Currently awaiting surgery at the Prince of Wales hospital where they will attempt to repair the damage. Fingers crossed this happens today so I can be partially recovered for Darwin!
Last weekend, we had a great sail after packing up the containers (love having multiple boats!) with Hugh and Soph. Worked all the way from Rose Bay up to the Bridge and back, with over 100 tacks and over 50 gybes. They hammered us when we were duelling, but Master Crew and I rapidly improved, swapping backwards and forwards to really nail down our manoeuvring processes.
On the Sunday, Master Crew couldn’t make the early morning session, so I sailed one-up. Hugh and Soph were faster upwind in the fifteen knot westerly… I smashed them downwind! Dad and I went out in the afternoon and worked hard on my exit angle out of the tack. I am so close! I was really looking forward to working on it this weekend, unfortunately, I will have to wait until I am in Darwin now for a sail. Gee life is tough!
Sophie and I sailed Thursday and Friday after work this week, which was just awesome! Making me feel much better knowing that I did get some time out on the water. Thanks fellow Sailor Girl Soph you are a champ!
